  • Ghost stories!

    As part of our National Story Telly week activities we held a scary Ghost Stories event in the LRC after school on Wednesday 31st January. The LRC was decorated and chilling background music played to give it a spooky atmosphere and staff and students took turns to tell scary stories.

  • "THE WIz" SCHOOL PRODUCTION - rehearsals in full swing!

    With only 3 weeks to go before our school production of ‘The Wiz’ tickets are selling out fast so please book your tickets. We have a whole array of fabulous performances that we would certainly encourage you to see.  Performances take place at 6pm on Wednesday 15th, Thursday 16th and Friday 17th November, with tickets costing £5 for adults, £3 for concessions.

  • Broadoak Students Learn about Hate Crime

    Year 9 Broadoak Mathematics and Computing College students took part in the Hate Crime Awareness roadshow which is touring North Somerset. Sessions were held on the MAVIS bus (Multi-Agency Vehicle in Service) raising awareness of Hate Crime. The students learnt how Hate Crime is tackled in North Somerset and how they can get advice, support and how to report Hate Crime.

  • One World Week 2017

    Miss Evans and the MFL department are delighted to report that 2017’s One World Week was a fantastic success! There was a wide range of activities taking place to celebrate our different cultures, languages and diversity. This year’s theme was “Hope” and was the central theme for our poetry competition and the teacher’s Great Broadoak Bake Off. Miss Harvey won the award for best tasting cake and Miss Jenkins won the most votes for best presentation.

    Broadoak Mathematics and Computing College opened its doors for its annual Open Evening on Thursday 28th September to showcase all the best Broadoak has to offer.

    Every faculty pulled out all the stops to make the evening as informative and enjoyable as possible. In Mathematics there were exciting puzzles and games, English had a time machine theme visiting literature though the ages, a poetry pedestal, story writing and some Dickens bah-humbugs!

  • Broadoak College’s Student Leadership Team

    We are delighted to introduce the new student leadership team at Broadoak.

    Congratulations to the newly appointed Head Girl - Madison and Head Boy - Dylan and Deputy Head Girl - Alyx and Deputy Head Boy - Tim (pictured).  They were selected from a total of 11 other students who applied for the roles, all of whom had to give a presentation to students and staff for them to vote.

    26 Year Five students from local Primary Schools participated in a Shakespeare day at Broadoak College on Tuesday 20th June.  Throughout the day, students explored The Tempest, a play about a shipwrecked magician and his daughter.  Students enjoyed recreating the storm and the island, using props and musical instruments to really bring the play to life.  Year 5 students were joined by a selection of Year Nine Broadoak students who shared their knowledge of the play and of Shakespeare with their younger counterparts.

  • Year 5 Maths Challenge day

    We were delighted to run our Maths Challenge Day for the third year running on Tuesday 13th June.


    The day was organised in order to give Year 5 Maths enthusiasts the opportunity to take part in a challenging, fun-filled day with us. We hosted students from Windwhistle, Oldmixon, Hutton and Corpus Christi Primary school.

  • Y11 Leavers' Assembly

    On Friday 26th May, Year 11 students at Broadoak Mathematics and Computing College celebrated their time at the College with a leavers' assembly. Families and members of our community were invited to join students to celebrate their time at Broadoak, sharing memories and achievements.

    Awards were presented to students in each tutor group for outstanding progress, achievement and citizenship with the Year Leader’s Outstanding Student of the Year award presented to Sophie Evans.
