The Christmas Carol Concert this year was a celebration of music, Christmas readings, poems and carols and was held at St Paul's Church. St Paul's Church was the perfect venue, beautifully decorated with lanterns, Christmas lights and handmade decorations giving a very festive atmosphere.
The concert opened with a beautiful performance of 'Oh Holy Night' by Poppy Davidson which blew the audience away. The Concert Choir continued the festive theme with stunning performances of 'Silent Night' and 'Jingle Bell Rock' and the Glee Club accompanied by our Year 10 band 'Monarchy' got the audience joining in the Christmas spirit with ' All I want for Christmas'. It was great to see the Rhapsody Orchestra performing 'Frosty the Snowman' with such confidence as this was their first ever performance.
Many of our young musicians in Year 7 and 8 performed solos and duets and the readers did a fantastic job of telling the story of Christmas through the reading poems such as 'Twas the night before Christmas'. The concert finished with a lively rendition of 'We Wish You a Merry Christmas' on Trumpet by Max Jennings and Danny Crundwell.
The Performing Arts department would like to thank all the students involved and St Paul's church for all their hard work and effort into making it a very special evening.
