The Learning Resources Centre (LRC) is open throughout the college day and is staffed by a full time Librarian with student library assistants who also help out at lunch and break times. Students are encouraged to make the most of the resources available to them from the LRC, these include over 13,000 books, magazines, DVDs and online resources. There are comfortable seating areas for quiet reading and a computer area for students to use for research, study and homework; classes will often use the LRC during lesson times. The LRC hosts author visits, reading groups and other events through the year and operates a drop–in homework club every day after college.

Students may borrow 2 books for two weeks and a DVD for 3 days. Help is always available to students on finding resources, research, study and revision skills.

To access the LRC online resources:

Curriculum WebLinks on the LRC Catalogue - Google can overwhelm students with too many leads, some irrelevant or dubious. WebLinks saves you time because a team of librarians and teachers have already found appropriate, relevant, high quality safe sites.

News Library – Newspapers for Schools - Research leading UK national and regional newspapers. Over 9 million articles from 2006 onwards. See articles as they were originally published, original colours and formatting. Includes newspaper photos/pictures for articles.

Who Next.....? A guide to children's authors
If you've already enjoyed a book by one author this useful guide will help you find other books by different authors that you might enjoy. Simply find the author you liked and the guide will give you a list of different authors to try, click on one of their names and you will also get some book title suggestions.
