Due to the popularity and success of last year’s Books Home Scheme, we are pleased to announce that we will be offering the same opportunity again this academic year, but this time for both Year 7 and 8 students.
Last year’s scheme was a resounding success. Students were pleased and proud to show parents the work that they had completed. Feedback from parents told us that you valued the opportunity to discuss your child’s work with them in the comfort of your own home and that you also found it useful to learn more about the next steps targets set by staff for students. We hope that this year, you will also be impressed with the even higher expectations that we have established and achieved with the presentation of class work.
This year, the scheme begins with Year 8. Students in 8B, 8D, 8K or 8M will bring home exercise books on Wednesday 25th November. Books must be returned to school on Thursday 26th November.
Students in 8Q, 8S or 8W will bring home books on Wednesday 2nd December. Books must be returned to school on Thursday 3rd December.
The scheme will start in January 2016 for Year 7 with 7B, 7D, 7K bringing books home on the 12th January and 7M, 7S, 7W bringing books home on the 19th January. A reminder will be sent to parents nearer the time, but we hope that Year 7 parents will appreciate the opportunity to review their child’s progress as much as parents did last year.
We hope that you agree that this is an exciting opportunity to find out more about your child’s learning and progress. Of course, we do please ask that you support your child in returning books to school the next day.
